Last week we discovered that Alec Baldwin’s wife and mother of the actor’s five children, so far known as Hilaria Baldwin, “Spaniard” and with a Spanish accent, actually seems to be called Hillary Hayward-Thomas, raised in Boston, of American parents and without a trace of a Spanish accent during her youth.

The change of her last name, obviously due to her marriage, is of no major significance. The change of her first name, from the very American “Hillary” to the more Spanish and exotic “Hilaria,” could be taken as normal in the artistic world, in which the Baldwin brothers have grown and aged. After all, Prince changed his name to an unpronounceable symbol, becoming known as “the artist formerly known as Prince”; or recently the actress Ellen Page who became Elliot Page.

What is funny and extremely striking in Hilaria’s case is that her accent fluctuates between Spanish and English. We had heard of the fluent gender, but were unaware of the existence of pronunciation fluency.

Baldwin, who is a celebrity yoga instructor, writer, TV personality, and Instagram influencer, has appeared in public countless times speaking English with a strong Spanish accent, even pretending not to remember how to say some words in English, like when on a cooking show she forgot how “cucumber” is said in English.

Hilaria has apparently pretended for years to be a Spaniard, born and raised on the island of Mallorca, where her parents have been living in retirement since 2011 (the same year she met Alec Baldwin), when in reality she was born and raised in Boston, having simply spent some childhood vacation time in Spain.

This seems to have been enough for Hillary to perceive herself as Hilaria, and to have tried to make everyone believe that she is a pure-bred Spanish woman. When the truth was revealed, Hilaria didn’t apologize for the invention, but has practically apologized for being American, and has only failed to reaffirm that she feels very proud of her non-existent Spanish roots.

She seems so proud of her fictional origins that she has called her children Carmen Gabriela, Rafael Thomas, Leonardo Angel Charles, Romeo Alejandro David, and Eduardo Pau Lucas.

Having been named “Hillary,” being the the daughter of wealthy Bostonians, and having grown up in Massachusetts in the most elitist schools and universities, seems not only uncool for Progressives, but it can be embarrassing as well, because of its high doses of white privilege. It seems that in Hollywood, the cradle of “woke” culture, being a foreigner “scores points” on the progressive acceptance scale. Although rather than for being a foreigner, the highest score is given for being considered non-white.

The key is a hatred of the concept of Western white. For example, being British gives you points in Hollywood for playing sophisticated villains in movies, like Christopher Lee or Alan Rickman, but it does not give you as much credit as belonging to an oppressed minority.

Luckily for Hillary, during her childhood, her parents spent their summers in Mallorca, not in England, which has allowed her to blend in with the world of Progressive show business without raising suspicions. This is thanks to the fact that the “woke” culture doesn’t miss an opportunity to demonstrate its idiocy and profound ignorance, since Spain, precisely, is full of white people. In reality, nothing is whiter and more “westernized” than the history of the Spanish Empire, where the sun didn’t set.

Presumably, for a progressive, Spain is not in Europe, and since English is not spoken there, they think that Hilaria’s language is “Mexican,” the one spoken beyond the Trump border wall. What difference does it make? The important thing for Progressives is that she doesn’t look American.
