Donald Trump and his entire family gathered Wednesday in New York to attend the funeral of Ivana Trump. The former president’s first wife and mother of three of his children died last week at 73 years old.
The service took place at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church in Manhattan. It was attended not only by the couple’s three children – Donald Jr, Eric, and Ivanka – but also by many other members of the clan, including the New York mogul’s current wife, Melania Trump; their son Barron; and the daughter Trump had with Marla Maples, Tiffany.
Several of them took the floor during the event to remember the former model and businesswoman. They emigrated from Czechoslovakia to the United States and, in 1977, married Trump, forming one of the most famous couples during that time.
“She was the epitome of the American dream. She was a force of nature,” her son Eric recalled her today at the funeral, according to the New York Post.
Ivana Trump, who decided to keep her first husband’s surname after the divorce, developed from then on a versatile career in which she launched clothing lines, jewelry, and beauty products, wrote several books, and collaborated in magazines.
According to the authorities, her death occurred last Thursday and would have resulted from a fall on the stairs of his luxurious home in New York.
