The Idiocy of the Week distinction from El American goes to a local Miss America pageant in New Hampshire, which has chosen a transgender as Miss Greater Derry.
According to the Miss Greater Derry judges, Brían Nguyen, a man who claims to be transgender, is officially the most beautiful woman in town. Along with the title – which could earn him a spot at the Miss America gala – Brían has walked away with a $7,500 scholarship that was earmarked for a local young woman.
Brían Nguyen is the first person born male to win a local Miss America pageant, after a vote completely conditioned by ideology. They don’t even bother to pretend that trans people look like beautiful women at first glance anymore.
If Brían Nguyen has won this award it is solely and exclusively because of his transgender status. Although judging beauty is subjective, in this case, he was undoubtedly the least graceful of all the nominees.
In women’s sports, it is obvious that transgender athletes are going to win because they have double or triple the body size of their rivals; but it is very striking that Miss Greater Derry is won by someone who weighs more than his two bridesmaids combined.
On second thought, transgenderism may not have been the only determining factor for the victory, and even if he had been born a woman, the jury would also have given him the victory as a gesture against “fatphobia”, another of the new fetishes of the left.
Although the Miss Greater Derry competitors were very effusive about the nomination, the frustration was probably ingrained in them, as was the beauty of the winner.
A solution to avoid the comparative grievance and injustice against biological women would be to create their own competition categories for transgender people, or to do as in boxing and divide by weight. This could be applied in sports as well as in beauty pageants.
However, with the enormous pressure from the transgender lobby, it doesn’t look like biological women will have an easy time winning the upcoming sports and beauty competitions.
Miss Greater Derry wants to fight patriarchy
The transgender political agenda is advancing by leaps and bounds in all areas, especially in sports, and now also in beauty pageants because the left has turned it into one of its ideological crusades to divide society.
In its divisive zeal, the left has made “patriarchy” the perfect euphemism for “capitalism”.
In order to attack the patriarchy, they do not mind falling into blatant contradictions and idiocies. Beauty contests are won by ex-men, in sports, they beat up women.
In the beauty pageants, the great contradiction of leftist woke is to see patriarchal normativity in the canons of beauty, when precisely the fashion industry is controlled mostly by women and homosexuals. There is little patriarchy there.
