According to a report by Rebel News Network (RNN), Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau had planned to welcome soldiers from the People’s Liberation Army of China for a series of special training sessions in extreme temperatures at a military base in Petawawa, Ontario. Ezra Levant, the founder of RNN and author of this report, says that “Trudeau was furious with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) for canceling the training after China kidnapped Canadian citizens. Michael Spavor and Michael Kovrig.”
The so-called “China Files” were declassified by the Canadian government to Rebel News after a request made by the media in April 2019, when they requested the records that corroborated a report by Sputnik News, the Russian government agency, revealing that Canada had sent an official delegation to China for the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Chinese Navy, a military exercise that was to take place shortly after the kidnapping of Kovrig and Spavor.
“These secret documents reveal how Justin Trudeau and his government are putting pressure on the Armed Forces to work closely with the People’s Liberation Army of China,” says Levant. Even after the kidnapping of two Canadian citizens, he continues, Trudeau insists that the Armed Forces maintain “close ties” with the Chinese Army. These documents,” he continues, “prove that Trudeau has sent Canadian troops to China to participate in China’s propaganda demonstrations.”
The kidnapping of these citizens by the Chinese Communist Party was carried out as retaliation after Canadian authorities arrested the director of Huawei, Meng Wanzhou, who was requested for extradition by U.S. authorities. Citizens Michael Spavor and Michael Kovrig were arrested by the Beijing regime on espionage charges.
The relationship between the Trudeau Administration and the Chinese regime
The Canadian government had delayed the response for nineteen months, but when it finally did, “they not only confirmed their attendance at that macabre event, but listed other exchanges between the People’s Liberation Army and the Canadian Armed Forces,” including training of Chinese commanders at the Armed Forces University in Toronto and other military institutions in Kingston. Among the Chinese Army participants, the report continues, were also one- and two-star generals and an entire contingent who would learn about Canadian military tactics in cold climates.
In the emails exchanged between Rebel News and the Trudeau Administration that are now coming to light, it was revealed that “the National Defense Department and the Canadian Armed Forces wanted to cancel the Chinese Liberation Army’s participation in winter survival training after the U.S. Defense Department’s request them to do so.
In another email the next day, he asked if any of the other “Five Eye” countries (the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United Kingdom) had expressed concerns about the transfer of know-how with regards to the United States. “Winter survival training will not take place this winter (2019). …] The safety concerns originated first from the United States. We are not aware of any other Five Eye countries expressing these concerns to Canada.”
“While this decision was made following the provisional arrest of Ms. Meng, we understand that it was motivated primarily by concerns raised by the United States, arguing that the training could result in unwanted transfers of knowledge from Canada to the People’s Liberation Army of China,” reads another memo labeled as classified.
The document also warns that China could interpret this change of decision as a “retaliation related to the case of Meng Wanzhou.”
