Former President Donald Trump has disqualified the legislative committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, assault on Capitol Hill, which he has labeled a kangaroo court, meaning a court that disregards established norms or justice, The Washington Times reports.
In a 12-page statement released in response to the latest public hearing of the aforementioned House Committee, Trump further doubled down on his claims that the 2020 presidential election, which brought Joe Biden to the presidency, was fraudulent.
The Republican also launched his criticism against Biden’s management and went over the failed Afghanistan withdrawal, his bad policy on the southwest border, which he called “unsafe,” and blamed Democrats for using the committee to distract Americans from the great pain they are experiencing.
Trump alleged that 17 months after Jan. 6, Democrats are unable to offer solutions and seek to change the narrative of a nation in decline.
The committee is made up of a majority of Democratic congressmen, although there are two Republican members—Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger—who are openly anti-Trump.
