“There are a lot of questions that must be answered by Dr. Fauci,” said former President Donald Trump, who since the beginning of the pandemic has blamed China for hiding data on the origin of the coronavirus.

Trump is asking for explanations and for Fauci to answer all doubts after thousands of emails from 2020 came to light and revealed that the renowned doctor always knew about the possibility that the virus had emerged at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

“The funding of Wuhan by the United States was foolishly started by the Obama Administration in 2014 but ended under the Trump Administration. When I heard about it, I said ‘no way.’ What did Dr. Fauci know about ‘gain of function’ research, and when did he know it?” questioned Trump in a statement.

Following the emails exposed by the media, through a freedom of information lawsuit, it was discovered that Fauci had knowledge of the experiments conducted at WIV and, in addition, received reports from respected scientists on the possibility that COVID-19 may have been man-made.

Despite the evidence and the possibilities of a laboratory accident, Fauci chose to emphasize that the natural jump theory as the origin of COVID-19 is the most likely, and throughout the pandemic year never mentioned laboratory escape.

Fauci, who heads the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), became the leading authoritative voice during the pandemic to report on the progress of the coronavirus.

Several news reports linked the National Institutes of Health (NIH) with $600,000 in funding to WIV through a nonprofit organization to research bat coronaviruses. However, Fauci denied the NIH’s involvement with the controversial gain-of-function experiment.

Fauci has repeatedly denied that the American funding was for gain-of-function, but has acknowledged that Chinese scientists could have used the money for such research.

The grant was canceled last year by the NIH, of which the agency Fauci heads is a part.

Members of Congress want to question Fauci under oath about what he knew and about the lab’s funding.

“It is now imperative that Dr. Fauci come before our Committees to provide information related to the origins of the novel coronavirus as well as the U.S. government’s role in funding research that may have contributed to the development of the novel coronavirus,” Republican representatives wrote in a letter to top Democrats on the House Oversight Committee.

“The American people have a right to know what our government knew about the origins of the pandemic and when it was known,” they wrote.
