Fox News host Tucker Carlson‘s allegations against the NSA don’t stop, they get more serious. This time, he claimed that the private emails illegally accessed by the National Security Agency (NSA) were given to a number of journalists with the intention of attacking his show and taking him off the air.

These allegations, however, were not made on his show. Carlson appeared on Maria Bartiromo’s Fox Business show to speak on the alleged persecution.

The host told Bartiromo that he was contacted by a journalist who read him the contents of his emails that the NSA would have leaked.

“It’s not a figment of your imagination. It is confirmed. It’s true,” this unknown journalist told Carlson.

“I got a call yesterday just before air at 7:15, from a journalist I know and like (…) And he repeated to me what was in my email and he got it because the NSA had leaked it,” he revealed.

“And this will come out soon,” the host told Bartiromo, “that the NSA leaked the contents of my email to journalists in an effort to discredit me. I know this because I got a call from one of them saying ‘oh, this is what your email is about.”

For Carlson, this illegal investigation is part of a bullying by the Biden administration against those who oppose him. “I think that, what is more disturbing, they are using the information they collect to exert influence and threaten opposition journalists, people who criticize the Biden administration. It’s happening to me right now,” Carlson said.

He also defended his own freedom of speech and his right to privacy as an American citizen. “I’m allowed to send emails to whomever I want (…) I’m a journalist and, more importantly, I’m an American,” he stressed. “It’s none of your business who I’m emailing with. If you think I’m committing a crime, charge me with it, and if I’m not committing a crime, leave me alone. I have a right to communicate privately with other people,” Carlson said.

Carlson and Putin

An Axios report reveals that Carlson was trying to solidify an interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin shortly before going public with his allegations of NSA spying.

The sources through which Axios obtained such information are from government institutions. They insinuate, however, that since the American government was aware of Carlson’s attempts for the interview with the Russian leader, the presenter used this fact to accuse the Biden administration.
