Media reported on Tuesday that Twitter sued Elon Musk after canceling the negotiation to buy the company. The purpose of it would be for Musk to pay 44 million dollars for the social network.

“Having staged a public spectacle to put Twitter in play and having proposed and then signed a seller-friendly merger agreement, Musk believes that he, unlike any other party subject to Delaware contract law, is free to change his mind, trash the company, disrupt its operations, destroy shareholder value and walk away,” says the lawsuit obtained by the Financial Times.

What does Elon Musk say about the lawsuit?

According to El American, on July 10, Musk responded with a meme after Twitter reportedly hired lawyers to file a lawsuit against the tycoon. The entrepreneur tweeted a meme of him laughing in reaction to the alleged upcoming legal dispute.

“They said I couldn’t buy Twitter; then they wouldn’t disclose information about bots; now they want to force me to buy Twitter in court; now they have to disclose information about bots in court,” Musk’s meme reads.

El American explained that “Musk was absent from Twitter for several days, but reappeared after it became known that he reversed the purchase of the social network because the company had not provided real information about the number of bots on the platform.”
