Francisco José Contreras, Vox congressman in Spain, reported that his Twitter account was suspended for 12 hours last week after saying that “a man can’t get pregnant” because “they do not have a uterus or eggs.”

The parliamentarian detailed on his Facebook that the company notified him that this message incited hatred. “Your account was blocked for not complying with Twitter rules. Specifically, for the following reasons: breaking the rules that prohibit hateful behavior,” the company wrote to him when taking the measure.

‘Men can’t get pregnant’

“It is a lie. Men can’t get pregnant. A man has no uterus or eggs,” Contreras had written to refer to an article in the newspaper El Mundo, which claimed that a trans man had given birth to a baby.

Similarly, Contreras joked about the Twitter decision. “You can see that this is already fascist biology. Next time I’ll try 2 +2 = 4.”

On several occasionsm conservatives have denounced the censorship of this platform. In fact, in October last year, the Senate Committee on Business Affairs strongly questioned the actions of the CEOs of Twitter, Google and Facebook.

“Mr. Dorsey, who the hell elected you and put you in charge of what the media can report and what the American people can hear, and why do you persist in behaving like a Democrat super PAC to silence opinions contrary to your political beliefs?” asked Senator Ted Cruz to Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter, in October last year after the continuous suspensions to supporters of center and right-wing ideologies.
