UPDATE: Kari Lake’s request to transfer appeal was denied by the Arizona Supreme Court

In connection with a lawsuit contesting her defeat in the Arizona governor’s election in November, Republican Candidate Kari Lake filed two appeals on Wednesday. A motion by Lake to have the Arizona Supreme Court hear her case was also submitted, but it has been rejected.

The Arizona Supreme Court stated that “no good cause exists to transfer the dispute to this court” in its ruling.

Elections attorney Tom Ryan told the Arizona Local Network “KSAZ” that he believed the court will dismiss the lawsuit.

“Electoral contests should be over and done with in 10 days,” Ryan said. “They were given all the opportunities for the trial, Thompson allowed a lot of evidence that most judges wouldn’t allow, but he wanted to do it to show that he was paying attention and weighing the evidence.”

The Republican Candidate and former news anchor made a statement on Twitter about this decision:

“My court case will be going before the Appeals Court prior to the Arizona Supreme Court because it’s already been scheduled for review. This decision was done without prejudice & I am confident the case will end up in their hands eventually. We’re moving forward.” Lake said on Wednesday night.

After losing by about 17,000 votes to Arizona’s new Democrat governor, Katie Hobbs, who was inaugurated in on January 2, Lake indicated last week that she is open to a hand recount.
