Val Demings’ team’s response
“Security officials take potential threats and threatening behavior toward the Chief seriously (…)In this instance the individual did not respond to multiple requests to leave and charged at security personnel in pursuit of Chief Demings’ approaching vehicle”, Christian Slater, communications director for the Democrat’s campaign, told the news outlet.
However, a county sheriff’s report obtained by FLORIDA TODAY, states that the subject was thrown to the ground by Demings’ security agents when he attempted to ask her questions as she was exiting her vehicle.
Demings’ security team’s actions were criticized by Republicans such as Senator Marco Rubio. “Every media outlet in America would have covered this if I had bodyguards like Pelosi puppet Val Demings does and they assaulted someone for trying to film me”, Rubio wrote on Twitter.
