Heartbreaking new videos of the massive influx of migrants into the United States reveal the border crisis is out of control. Women with babies, crying men, and small children cross the Rio Grande risking their lives with the sole objective of fulfilling the “American dream.”
Fox News reporter Bill Melugin posted a series of videos showing the arrival of a group of migrants crossing the Rio Grande. The group said they were coming from Venezuela.
“They have very young children with them. They crossed when Mexican Marines weren’t in the area” Melugin said.
After Joe Biden in his campaign assured that he would be “more humane” with migrants, thousands of citizens from Central and South America decided to travel by land to reach the United States. A situation that turned into a crisis after the number of detentions reached historic numbers in 15 years.
In April alone, border authorities apprehended more than 178,000 adult migrants and the number of unaccompanied minors registered a 100% increase in one month, totaling more than 18,890 children.
A Fox News report says that the Biden-Harris administration exempts unaccompanied children from removal by allowing them to remain in the United States while they process asylum claims. The same is true for families with young children who are also often released while their cases go through immigration courts.
According to Dallas News, “Venezuelans are generally making it across the border at Del Rio, where they can apply for asylum; but Central Americans are being returned.”
20 governors demand Biden not to ignore border crisis
Twenty governors sent a letter to President Biden, asking him to stop “ignoring” the crisis at the border and asking him to take prompt action to resolve the situation.
“The crisis is too big to ignore and is now spreading across the border states to other states in the interior,” the governors said.
“As a border state, Arizona is at the forefront of the border crisis. First we felt the impacts of human smuggling, drug trafficking and the humanitarian crisis,” Arizona Governor Doug Ducey said in a press release.
“Now the ‘Biden-Harris’ border crisis is affecting other states as well. And it is clear that this crisis is the direct result of this administration’s unfulfilled policies and failed messaging,” the governor emphasized.
