Vox llama desde Washington a grupos políticos en América Latina y EEUU a luchar contra "el nuevo marxismo"

The Spanish party Vox organized an event in Washington today to try to galvanize different conservative sectors in Latin America against what they called “the new Marxism,” which, they assured, is taking control of the region.

The electoral victories of Gustavo Petro in Colombia or Gabriel Boric in Chile were the focus of much of the talk dedicated to “The legitimization of terrorism from the institutions”. They were attended by victims of different terrorist groups, both Spanish and Latin American.

Thus, the stories of Ana Velasco, daughter of the policeman murdered by ETA Jesús Velasco, or Iara Nisman, daughter of the Argentine prosecutor Alberto Nisman, who was found dead in the bathroom of his house while investigating a corruption case of the current VP Cristina Kirchner, have served as a prologue to a discussion that links the recent wave of progressive victories in the region to different armed groups.

Petro’s militancy in the M-19 guerrilla was one of the main topics of the discussion.

In addition, several U.S. participants thanked Vox for its efforts to respond to this global wave of “new Marxism” by organizing events such as this Friday’s, bringing together representatives of an alternative conservatism to the traditional right, which they accuse of being permissive of the left and legitimizing it through agreements.

The participants also celebrated the recent failure at the ballot box of the new Constitution in Chile, which according to the Chilean attendees, is “completely unnecessary” since the original text, drafted during the dictatorship of General Augusto Pinochet (1973-1990) and amended several times after the restoration of democracy, is already on a par with other constitutional texts in the region.

The event, moderated by Vox MEP Hermann Tertsch and held at the headquarters of The Heritage Foundation —a conservative think tank— in the U.S. capital, was also attended by Vox spokesman in Congress Iván Espinosa de los Monteros.
