Writer and researcher Christopher F. Rufo continues to uncover which American companies are training their employees on Critical Race Theory issues through programs containing anti-American propaganda. His most recent allegation targets Walmart, the well-known multinational retailer that operates warehouses and supermarkets across the country.

According to Rufo’s report, Walmart, in 2018, “launched a critical race theory training program that denounces the United States as a ‘white supremacy system’ and teaches white hourly-wage workers that they are guilty of ‘white supremacy thinking’ and ‘internalized racial superiority’.”

Walmart’s program was developed and launched in conjunction with the Racial Equity Institute. That paper was used to train some 1,000 employees on topics such as “intersectionality” or “white anti-racist development” that are directly linked to the controversial and radical Critical Race Theory.

Rufo shared on his Twitter profile — a social network where he usually makes his complaints first to then be published on the website City Journal — a series of screenshots where you can read part of the content of the program launched by Walmart.

The program defines the term “racism” as a “social and institutional power combined with race prejudice. It is a system of advantage for those considered white, and of oppression for those who are not considered white. It is a white supremacy system supported by an all class collaboration called ‘white’ created to end cross racial labor solidarity.”

Other parts of the document accuse “white people” of having intrinsic privilege because of their skin color. For example, it notes that white people have the privilege of “be seen as an individual; what we do never reflects on the white race.” At this point they suggest that black or Latino people are discriminated against or evaluated as a collective because of their skin color and not individually. In the same section, it is pointed out that a white person, although “hurt by racism”, can “can live just fine without ever having to deal with it.” In other words, the training plan states that a white person cannot suffer any racial discrimination.

The privileges held by white people according to the employee training plan launched by Walmart.

The Walmart document points out that there is a problem called “internalized racial inferiority” which is the opposite of white privilege. For example, it states that “people of color” carry “internalized negative messages about ourselves and other people of color” and that black people themselves believe “there is something wrong with being a person of color.”

Internalized racial inferiority among people of color is manifested in multiple ways that “include, but are not limited to, internalized negative messages about self and other people of color, distancing, exaggerated visibility, and protection of white people.”

Likewise, there is also something called “internalized racial superiority among white people,” which is the “is manifested in multiple ways that include, but are not limited to, seeing white standards and norms as universal; assuming that one’s comfort, wealth, success and privilege has been earned by merits and hard work; individualism and competition; distancing; perfectionism; and binary (either/or) thinking.”

Furthermore, the document directly states that black people have a major problem of low self-esteem, feel inferior to whites and suffer from racial inferiority and therefore try to imitate white people. They blame all this on the racist system.

“We have lowered self-esteem, sense of inferiority, wrongness”; “We have lowered expectations, limited sense of potential for self”; “We have very limited choices: either ‘act in’ (white) or ‘act out’ (disrupt)”; “We have a sense of limited possibility (limited by oppression and prejudice)”, these four points read verbatim under “internalized racial inferiority.”

Walmart creó un programa “antirracista” woke para enseñarle a sus empleados propaganda antiamericana

Walmart says white people must accept their historical “shame”

In another part of the program Rufo explained that Walmart, in addition, “Walmart tells minorities that they are programmed to believe the ‘myths promoted by the racist system’ and develop feelings of ‘self-hate,’ ‘anger,” ‘rage,’ and ‘ethnocentrism,’ and are forced to ‘forget,’ ‘lie,’ and ‘stop feeling’ in order to secure basic survival.”

What is the solution according to Walmart’s training program? For white people to accept their historical racist guilt and “shame” by accepting that they are “not right” in order to become anti-racist activists who bring about collective change.

This is not the first time Rufo has denounced an American company for teaching its employees anti-American propaganda. The writer had already revealed that Disney, Google and Bank of America launched trainings related to Critical Race Theory that had a content and approach quite similar to the one presented by Walmart’s program.
