Where is Kamala Harris? The vice president in charge of overseeing the situation at the border has gone 19 days without holding a press conference despite the humanitarian crisis caused by the massive arrival of migrants.

On April 12, Republican Nikki Haley published a humorous image in which she questions where Kamala Harris is in the same style of the game Where’s Waldo? Kamala Harris, who has been in charge of the border crisis, has refused to travel to witness the situation firsthand. The answer is given in the same image: “Everywhere but the border.”

This Saturday, NBC News published an article titled “Confusion Clouds Harris Immigration Role,” criticizing the Biden White House for creating confusion by not clarifying what the vice president’s specific duties would be.

Unnamed administration sources told NBC that Harris has focused on investigating immigration issues and holding discussions with Latin American officials rather than publicly addressing the problem. So far, however, Harris has not released any information on efforts and results.

Where is Kamala Harris? “Kamala Harris will not do anything to fix the situation”

Newt Gingrich, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, charged that Harris was put in office “because they knew she would do nothing to fix the situation.”

Gingrich pointed out that what is happening at the border is part of Biden’s plan and that it is for that reason that the administration is allegedly not taking forceful action.

“They want the border to be open. Go back and watch the presidential primary debates. They are all for open borders. They’re all for eliminating ICE. Everybody is for eliminating any threat to sanctuary cities,” he said in a Fox News interview.

Likewise, Arizona Republican Governor Doug Ducey criticized the nomination of Kamala Harris, saying the vice president “doesn’t care” about the southern border.

“If President Biden’s intention was to show that he is taking the crisis on our border seriously, he has actually done the opposite by selecting Vice President Harris to lead on this issue.”

During a visit to the border, Ducey blamed the president for the surge of migrants and asserted that Biden is “totally divorced from the reality on the ground.” “I’ve been governor under three presidents, and this is by far the worst situation we’ve ever seen,” the governor said.

Agreements with Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala

Although Harris has not yet led a press conference and has not traveled to the southern border, on Monday, April 12, the White House announced border agreements with Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala.

According to the announcement by Press Secretary Jen Psaki, the countries will intensify military presence on their borders to stop migration to the United States.

According to Psaki, Mexico will maintain a presence of 10,000 troops along its southern border. Guatemala will send 1,500 military and police troops to its border with Honduras and the latter “increased to 7,000 police and military to disperse a large contingent of migrants.”
