The World Health Organization (WHO) said today that it has verified that 62 healthcare structures in Ukraine have been affected by attacks since the invasion by Russia began and that other similar incidents are under investigation.
This is an additional 20 attacks over those it reported less than a week ago.
At least 15 people were killed and nearly forty injured in these attacks.
The names of the health facilities attacked and their locations are not being reported for security reasons, WHO said.
The identity of the sources is also not disclosed to avoid “further harm to survivors or the surrounding population,” said WHO spokeswoman Margaret Harris at a press conference.
Attacks on health facilities are a serious crime under international law, which states that they must be protected even in times of war.
