To celebrate the 25th season of The View on ABC, Elisabeth Hasselbeck returned to the show as a guest, and upon her arrival, a discussion about abortion sparked a debate about how women can care for their children once they are born. Hasselbeck pointed out that there are different ways to help mothers raise their children. Upon hearing that position, Whoopi Goldberg addressed the issue and stated that she believes God would agree with the woman’s decision.
“God made us smart enough to know when it wasn’t going to work for us. That’s the beauty of giving us freedom of choice”, said Goldberg, who detailed that her relationship with God is always “choppy.”

Whoopi Goldberg says she is “pro-life.”

Goldberg added: “I also know that God made me smart enough to know that if there are alternatives out there that can work for me, I will investigate them”. Despite her remarks, Goldberg assured that no one in the debate was against life.
“And again, before we go, let me just point out: no one — no one at this table is not pro-life. Nobody at this table is not pro-life. I just want to make sure we all know that. Nobody is happy about going to get an abortion”, she commented.
During the debate in which the majority of the hosts were seeking to justify abortion, Hasselbeck argued that it is necessary for society to implement tools that help women to be able to have their children. “I do think there are options out there. There are thousands of agencies that wrap around women that might not be able to care for the baby once born or may not want the baby when they’re pregnant or maybe it was unexpected and they’re in a hard situation“.
And added: “And I might not change your minds, but I hope women out there know to look for the nonprofits, look for the agencies that help you create a birth plan and match you with an adoptive family who may have suffered miscarriage after miscarriage who want to care for the baby. So, that option is real and it’s out there. And I don’t believe they’re giving women half the information out there.”
