After the Democratic Party branded Donald Trump a racist and xenophobe for claiming that the origin of the virus came from a laboratory in China, President Biden has now ordered the intelligence services to redouble their efforts to investigate the possibility that COVID-19 came from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
The Deep State’s attempt to cover up this matter as if it were a state secret has been to no avail. The White House has given the intelligence community 90 days to gather and process information leading to a “definitive conclusion” about the origin of the coronavirus.
Accountability pantomime to manipulate public opinion?
Biden’s allergy to reporting has become a swarm of suspicion. Last week, The Wall Street Journal revealed that in early November 2019 three Wuhan Institute researchers fell ill with COVID-19-like symptoms, according to a report then produced by the state laboratory Lawrence Livermore in California.
This scientific study became an important scientific reference for the Trump administration in its effort to seriously examine the hypothesis that the virus had originated at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. But – predictably – the report was disavowed by the Chinese Communist Party which misleadingly later reported to the World Health Organization (WHO) that the first patient with COVID-19-like symptoms had been recorded in Wuhan on December 8, 2019.
In addition to keeping Trump’s report completely in the shadows, Democratic leaders-with the complicity of Big Tech and the large left-leaning media conglomerate-credited the official Chinese version ahead of the U.S. president’s opinion.
Since then, all efforts to explain the origin of the pandemic have been thwarted between those who discredit Trump’s theories about the serious threat of an engineered and dangerous virus, and those who unconditionally support China, the WHO and the theses of Dr. Fauci, sponsors of an increasingly questioned scientific hypothesis that only admits considering the natural origin of the coronavirus.
The height of irony was that Dr. Anthony Fauci – the government’s chief advisor in the fight against the pandemic – challenged Trump’s thesis, dismissing his arguments as part of a “crackpot conspiracy theory”, while secretly receiving numerous warnings from reputable scientists about the possibility that the virus was created in a laboratory.
The latest episode of this political crisis has been the publication of more than 3,000 of Fauci’s own emails – to which BuzzFeed News had access through the Freedom of Information Act – which once again places at the center of public debate one of the darkest political circumstances of recent American democracy.
It is a wealth of correspondence during the confusing early stages of the pandemic, between the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), government officials, the media and reputable scientists, inferring that Fauci did not disclose everything he knew about the possibility that a Chinese laboratory, funded in large part by his own institute, could be the factory where the pandemic was created.
Therefore, this new order issued by the Biden administration to the U.S. intelligence community has all the trappings of having an impact on sensitive areas of national security, whose defense is entrusted to both the Central Intelligence Agency and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, as well as the U.S. Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security, to name just a few of the most important agencies.
If there is one thing the Democratic leaders – led by Biden and Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House of Representatives – are displaying, it is their lack of moral character to say one thing and the opposite according to their political interests and without being the least bit ashamed of it, which speaks volumes about the level of unacceptable cynicism practiced by the highest figures of the state.
Clarifying the truth
It is essential that the government clarify the origin and the procedures related to the nature of this virus that has caused almost 170 million infections worldwide and more than 3.5 million deaths, according to official information.
For the moment, the only public explanation has been given by the White House Press Secretary, Jen Psaki. But it does not clarify the main questions.
Psaki has limited herself to assuring that the government supports an independent and transparent investigation but that its conclusions will depend on the cooperation and data provided by the Chinese government.
This and saying nothing is the same thing. Worse, it is continuing to feed the toxic cloud that the so-called “progressive” press and the Democratic Party have created.
Psaki has also said that the Biden administration experts do not have enough data and information to reach a decisive conclusion at this time.
That may be so, but that explanation does not entirely reassure the public about the potential global security implications of an autocratic and perverse regime being behind a covert bioterrorism operation, as is certainly the fact that the pathogen could have been created in a Chinese laboratory.
This administration, accustomed to ignoring journalists’ questions, will have to clarify a thousand questions about its role as a mere guarantor of economic and media interests that have obstructed the process of the search for truth within representative institutions. They all owe an explanation to society and especially to the victims.
The fact that between 2014 and 2019, the NIAID – managed by Fauci – has offered hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Wuhan laboratory for the study of the coronavirus in bats, places us before a major scandal that demands many explanations and answers, because it is the security of the United States that also ends up damaged.
It is up to the courts to verify the authenticity of these allegations.
In the face of this increasingly worrisome and obscure scenario, Biden continues to refuse to pronounce himself on the facts involving prominent institutions of his government and avoids, contrary to constitutional norms, opening an investigation file against Dr. Fauci.
It would seem, then, that the Biden administration prefers to give up investigating the origin of the pandemic in exchange for demagoguery with the pandemic.
No one can believe that this is a case of administrative negligence or scientific personalism. The fact that the Obama administration reimbursed such an astronomical amount of money to an institute managed by the Chinese Communist Party generates more than a suspicion about a possible high-level operation that, by pure logic, must hide many interests at stake, such as the obvious fact that the White House may have indirectly financed experiments on coronaviruses that may have led to the deliberate creation and use of the COVID-19 virus.
Holding China accountable
Beyond the partisan controversies, the Republican Party would do well to ask itself and demand from the Government a clear answer to a question that millions of Americans have been asking since the pandemic began. Does the Biden administration want to correct the political and diplomatic relations with China, currently at the service of the great powers that sustain its seat in the White House, or does it prefer to continue practicing an ambiguous practice of parliamentary artifices while its team plays two different games with two different decks of cards?
If the veracity of what has been published is proven, the Democratic Party, as the only political force in the opposition and now in government, is obliged to assume specific responsibilities for the conduct maintained during these years, in which it has been supporting with various parliamentary initiatives the obstruction of a thorough investigation into a probable bacteriological war that has plunged the country into a serious state crisis.
Biden has made a very serious mistake since the beginning of his presidency by compromising relations with his European partners when the White House allowed the Chinese Communist Party to destroy the evidence of its complicity in the origin of the virus, thus disavowing the excellent investigative work that the United States had done on the matter.
But most serious of all is the passivity shown by the government so far. As long as the White House remains silent, the Communist Party will continue to disseminate erroneous information, violating the International Health Regulations and resorting to lies, as part of its covert strategy to generate a serious health problem for the West.
Also surprising is the passive and complicit attitude of the Democratic legislators who, instead of siding unconditionally with American interests, have preferred to submit to the same collectivist military dictatorship that in the past led the Cultural Revolution, the Tiananmen massacre and the crimes against humanity against the Uyghurs, Kazakhs and the Tibetan people.
On the other hand, it gives the impression that there is no plan for sanctions in this regard. Only improvisation and secrecy, which reinforces the Asian perception that the United States prioritizes its relations with China in this part of the world – a foreign policy initiated by Clinton – to the detriment of its strongest and most loyal partners such as Japan, no matter how much Biden says otherwise.
That is why it seems a macabre joke that the Chinese Communist Party, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has recently charged again in an institutional statement against the United States, blaming a U.S. Army biomedical research laboratory in Maryland for creating the coronavirus strain.
The Biden administration should hold the Chinese communist regime accountable and punish Beijing for its repeated failures to comply with global principles of transparency and biosafety. Failure to do so would jeopardize the stability and sovereignty of the United States and the rest of the free world at a time when it is needed more than ever.
