Chinese dictator Xi Jinping has expressed his support to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hassan Rohani, to deepen the nuclear agreement that strengthened the Middle Eastern country’s threat to the West. The call is part of a ratification of the 25-year agreement signed between China and Iran that will deepen the alliance in the military and industrial sectors at high levels.
The conversation, which was later covered communicatively by the Beijing regime’s Foreign Ministry, touched on several topics, specifically the coronavirus pandemic and the nuclear agreement initially promoted by former President Barack Obama and then Vice-President Joe Biden.
The Foreign Ministry informed that the Chinese leader emphasized that within the framework of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Iran: “the bilateral relations now stand at an important historical juncture to build on past achievements and forge ahead into the future.”
The Communist Party of China ringleader also reaffirmed Beijing’s commitment to Tehran in the context of the pandemic. “China,” read the statement, “will continue to firmly support Iran to safeguard national sovereignty and dignity.” He added that China is willing to provide the greatest possible assistance to Iran’s fight against the pandemic and help the Iranian people defeat the virus.
Xi Jinping expressed the Asian nation’s support for the Iranian regime’s “reasonable” demands regarding the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the country’s nuclear issue.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry also reported that Xi reiterated his participation as a mediator in the solution of the “Palestinian issue”; he commented that he is “willing to work with Iran to strengthen communication and cooperation in regional and international affairs and jointly promote regional security and stability.” In this way, China is seeking to manifest and realize the decline of American diplomatic influence in the Middle East.
For his part, Rohani ratified her position of disowning Taiwan as a country. “Iran,” the Chinese regime’s foreign ministry expounded, “firmly adheres to the one-China policy and unconditionally supports China in safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity.” Subsequently, the Iranian leader thanked China for its support regarding the nuclear deal.
A few months ago, the two countries signed a four hundred billion dollar agreement called “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership”. With a duration of twenty-five years of cooperation, the countries propose a close alliance in different sectors that will be especially exploited by the New Silk Road that the Chinese regime is building.
As reported by The New York Times, the agreement includes sectors such as banking, telecommunications, ports, railroads, health care and information technology. In return, China would receive a regular supply of Iranian oil at deep discounts.
The agreement also outlines a deepening of military cooperation. The broad outlines of the agreement on this issue propose joint training and exercises, weapons research and development, as well as intelligence sharing between the two regimes.
