Donald Trump

YouTube suspended the channel of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, who won’t be able to upload new content for at least seven days, almost the time left in the political leader’s term who has been censored by all the Big Tech companies in the country in an unprecedented action.

YouTube detailed on Tuesday on its official Twitter account that the decision was made “in light of concerns about the continued potential for violence.”

The measure means that the President “temporarily cannot upload new content for a minimum of 7 days.”

“Given current concerns, we will also disable President Trump’s channel comments indefinitely, as we have done with other channels where there are security concerns.”

YouTube indicated that, after a review, it proceeded to remove new content uploaded to Trump’s channel for “violating” its policies, without specifying which policies had been violated.

This is the latest in a series of measures taken by social networks to remove the President of the United States from the virtual world.

Last Friday, Twitter permanently suspended Trump’s account due to “the risk of further incitement to violence,” after the President himself sent a message to his followers asking them to return home peacefully and respect law and order after the assault on the Capitol.

After temporarily suspending Trump’s account, the social network definitively deprived him of that tool, with which the outgoing President had issued more than 55,000 messages during more than eleven years and in which he had 89 million followers.

Facebook and Instagram also blocked the President’s access to his account at least until the transfer of power is completed on January 20th, and Twitch and Snapchat deactivated his profile indefinitely inn a censorship operation against a President and his constituents never before seen in the United States.
