YouTube suspended for one week the channel of El American, the first bilingual Hispanic media in the United States, for broadcasting a political event of former President Donald Trump.

El American is media outlet for Hispanics in the United States that aims to report on all political, social, and economic events facing Americans.

Fittingly, because the former president of the United States is in the spotlight of today’s conversation, El American aired his rally. It is important to echo all political leaders, to know their points of view, and that of former President Trump is one of the most urgent. That is the job of a media outlet.

However, Big Tech, which has been censoring Trump’s voice, decided to prevent El American from broadcasting his rally. And in addition, they sanctioned the outlet.

The Trump-organized rally that El American aired was held in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and, according to YouTube, “the content was removed for a violation of community guidelines.”

YouTube and other digital platforms

Since the end of his presidency, Donald Trump has faced censorship from traditional media and digital platforms. For some time now, not only President Trump but also his family have denounced how Big Tech has sought to silence their voices.

In March of this year, YouTube censored an interview of former President Donald Trump, which reached 5 million views in 24 hours. Confirmation of the removal of the video was given by the Nelk Boys channel, where the conversation was broadcast.

Nelk Boys published the YouTube notification, which specified that one reason was that during the interview, they talked about irregularities in the 2020 presidential elections. The channel qualified the reason as madness.

Big Tech has also censured other conservative leaders. For example, in April 2021, YouTube censored Governor Ron DeSantis and a group of experts who questioned the use of face masks on children.
