The president of Ukraine, Volodymir Zelensky, took to the streets today in the government quarter surrounded by his closest team to state in a video that the government is still operating and he and his advisors are in Kyiv working to defend Kyiv from Russian invasion.

“We are here. We are in Kyiv. We are defending Ukraine,” Zelenski says in the 32-second video, recorded by himself on Bankova Street in front of the Ukrainian president’s office.

In the video, he is joined by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Ukrainian Presidential Advisor Mikhail Podoliak, the head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak and the leader of the parliamentary faction “The Servant of the People” David Arahamiya.

In the early hours of the morning in Kyiv, the Ukrainian president denied that he had left the capital of the country.

“I will stay in the capital. My family is also in Ukraine,” he stressed in response to rumors that periodically appear on social media that he had left the country.
