Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky today denounced the total destruction of an airport near Vinnytsia, in the west of the country, by the impact of eight Russian missiles.

In a new video posted on the president’s official Telegram account, Zelensky stressed that “peaceful Vinnytsia has never threatened Russia.”

“The brutal and cynical missile attack left the airport completely destroyed. They (Russians) continue to destroy our infrastructure, our life, which we built ourselves, our parents, our grandparents, generations of Ukrainians (…),” he said.

“We repeat every day: close the sky over Ukraine. Close it for all Russian missiles, for planes, for all these terrorists. Make a humanitarian air zone without missiles, without bombs,” he again addressed NATO allies, who have already ruled out a no-fly zone over Ukraine.

“We are people and it is your humanitarian duty to protect people and you can do this. If they don’t do this, give us planes so we can defend ourselves,” he stressed, appealing to the “responsibility” of world leaders.
