“Big Tech is the biggest threat to free speech and free election in America,” said Republican Senator Ted Cruz on Monday, November 1 at the National Conservatism conference.
Cruz warned that freedom of speech is threatened by the control of “a few billionaires.”
“Who in their right mind, would want free speech to be governed by a few billionaires?” the senator noted in reference to the censorship imposed by large companies such as Facebook or Twitter.
“Hollywood surrenders to China”
Likewise, in relation to large U.S. companies and industries, Cruz also pointed out that some large companies became “enforcers of the hard left.”
“Hollywood is a force of propaganda, a force of lies, a force of deception, and it is systematic working to brainwash young people,” he warned.
The senator charged that Hollywood writers engage in political propaganda seeking to influence the younger generation.
“They don’t see their role as story writers but as propagandists (…) Hollywood is quite happily willing to submit to Chinese censorship,” he noted.
“China is the greatest geopolitical threat facing the United States in the next century,” he added.
“I hate communists”
In his address, Ted Cruz recalled that Marxism and communism in Cuba threaten to destroy progress while violating human rights.
“My family was imprisoned and tortured in Cuba; when it comes to communists, I hate communists,” the senator noted.
Cruz added that Marxism limited all of society with an inevitable battle between classes and referred to Critical Race Theory as a great example of this: “Critical Race Theory derived from Marxism. Instead of dividing us on the basis of socioeconomic status, it divides us on the basis of race,” he said.
“We have to understand that Marxists despise this country, despise the principles it was built on, the freedom it was built on,” he added.
“The left seeks to destroy millions of workers”
The senator also described how the left seeks to destroy millions of companies and workers.
“Any crisis reveals character and we have seen the character of the far left, which screams the will to destroy millions of small businesses,” he said.
Cruz expanded on the importance of his party backing job creators and workers, “we need to be the party of working men and women.”
“Today, the Democratic is the party of rich coastal elites who look down on the working men and women (…) We have to be the party of working men and women,” he added.
