McCarthy About Trump & DeSantis Feud: ‘I Don’t Think Republicans Should Go After One Another’

During an interview on Monday night, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) addressed former President Donald Trump’s recent assaults on Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

McCarthy’s comments came after Trump frequently criticized the governor when campaigning in Waco, Texas, much to the chagrin of the crowd.

McCarthy was questioned about the assaults on Fox News’ “Jesse Watters Primetime” after seeing a footage of Trump’s statements.

A long video of Trump’s event, highlighted by Mediaite, showed the former president’s comments falling flat with the audience, who fell mainly quiet. “Compared to how Trump’s crowd generally reacts to his quips,” the article added, “the reaction to his ridiculing DeSantis was nearly dead air.”

Trump criticized DeSantis‘ reaction to the outbreak, saying he was “not good” on crime and mocking him with nicknames. Trump’s assaults come after a Fox News investigation last week revealed that Trump attacked DeSantis four times more than President Joe Biden.

Throughout the event, Trump’s guests, including Reps. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and Mike Lindell, blasted DeSantis.

Lindell referred to DeSantis as “Trojan horse Ron DeSantis” and stated that the greatest thing he can do tomorrow morning is endorse Donald Trump.

Christina Bobb, a Trump attorney, also blasted DeSantis in Waco, stating that “if he actually does try to enter this race, [he] will come out a bloodied pulp.”
