AOC Says the Report about Hunter Biden’s Laptop Is “Half-Fake”

Far-left Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) made the wild assertion that Hunter Biden’s famed laptop is “half fake” on Wednesday as she attacked The New York Post‘s explosive investigation that originally revealed the device and its contents.

The NY Democrat made the comments as senators questioned Twitter officials over the social media giant’s removal of The Post’s articles from October 2020 on the infamous “laptop from hell.”

Ocasio-Cortez charged that House Republicans coerced Twitter executives into appearing before the House Oversight and Accountability Committee due to a “24-hour hiccup in a right-wing political operation.”

“We’re talking about Hunter Biden’s half-fake laptop story. I mean, this is an embarrassment,” the congresswoman said. She also stated that the session could address topics such as abortion, civil rights and voting rights.

Cortez also criticized The New York Post for not “sharing” exclusive laptop information with other media outlets during the first publication of the story in the weeks preceding the 2020 presidential election.

About this statement, Cortez cited a Washington Post piece that described how attempts to verify the wealth of emails found on the scandal-plagued son’s computer had first run into a “roadblock” for left-leaning media outlets, which eventually conceded the laptop story was genuine.

“New York Post had this alleged information and was trying to publish it without any corroboration, without any backup information, they were trying to publish it to Twitter, Twitter would not let them — and now they are upset,”  “I believe that political operatives who sought to inject explosive disinformation with the Washington Post couldn’t get away with it,”

House Republicans are looking into the extreme tactics the platform used to restrict The New York Post when it forbade users from publishing articles that connected Joe Biden, the then-Democratic nominee for president, to his son Hunter and brother James Biden’s international business dealings.

The platform, which was then led by CEO Jack Dorsey, also barred The media outlet from using its Twitter account for more than two weeks over unfounded accusations that the article utilized stolen data.

Republicans subpoenaed several high-profile witnesses to appear before the hearing, including Yoel Roth, the former head of safety and integrity, James Baker, the former deputy general counsel, and Vijaya Gadde, the former chief legal officer of Twitter. Democrats invited Anika Collier Navaroli, a former member of Twitter’s content moderation team, to testify.
