Body-camera footage captures the moment cops encounter the assailant at Paul Pelosi’s door in October.
Its disclosure follows a San Francisco court decision requiring the district attorney’s office to make the records accessible.
David DePape, the alleged assailant, has entered a not guilty plea to several accusations.
In the footage, San Francisco police can be seen breaking into Mr. Pelosi’s house on the evening of October 28. There, they discover Mr. DePape and Mr. Pelosi both clutching a hammer.
Before the onslaught begins, the officers tell DePape to put down the hammer, to which he responds “no” and shortly after hits the businessman in the head.

According to court filings from last year, Mr. DePape had intended to kidnap Mrs. Pelosi, and break “her kneecaps” if she “lied” to him.
At the scene, Mr. DePape informed officers he was tired of the “lies coming out of Washington DC.”
When he broke through the glass doors of the Pelosi house in the exclusive Pacific Heights neighborhood, Mr. DePape allegedly told police he was on a “suicide mission.”
He is accused of many offenses, including attempted murder and assault with a dangerous weapon.
After the assault, Mr. Pelosi was taken to the hospital where he underwent surgery to treat a skull fracture. He was also hurt in the right arm and hands.
He had his first public appearance in early December and was released from the hospital six days later. He has been recovering slowly.
