Quarterback Tom Brady, who wrote another brilliant page in his legendary career by capturing a seventh Super Bowl title and fifth MVP award (something no one had ever achieved in the NFL before) said his only goal on the field was to get the win with the team.

“Everyone on the team was convinced that this was the goal to achieve and that we would have to do very well, as we did throughout the game,” Brady said after the Super Bowl LV game, which they won 31-9 over the Kansas City Chiefs, who were the favorites to win.

The victory and the way Brady played make those who thought it was time for him to pass the torch to the next generation wrong.

“This team is a world champion forever, no one can take that away from us,” Brady stressed. “When I joined the team I thought the project was exciting and I wasn’t wrong.”

Brady, the 43-year-old quarterback who came to Tampa Bay for the final chapter of a first-ballot Hall of Fame career, proved he remains the league’s most dominant, throwing for 201 yards and three touchdowns, giving the Buccaneers their second Super Bowl title after winning their first in 2003.

With the victory, Brady has more Super Bowl titles (7) than any franchise in NFL history, surpassing the six won by the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New England Patriots, his former team.

Brady also made history with his fifth MVP award, becoming the only player with five. Joe Montana is second with three.

When asked if he would return next season, he added, “We’ll be back.”

As for the support he had from former teammates, tight-end Rob Gronkowski and running back wide receiver Antonio Brown, Brady said he was very happy for all they had done since joining the team.

“It’s great to see great players making great plays,” Brady noted. “I love what they did, what they added to the team. Gronkowski is an unbelievable player, teammate, talent, work ethic, commitment. And AB (Antonio Brown) is just exemplary, from the time he got here, he did everything the right way. Very impressed with him. Proud of him.”

The two combined for three of the four touchdowns the Buccaneers scored on Brady’s touchdown passes -two to Gronkowski and the third to Broen- all in the first half for the 21-6 early lead that proved decisive in the 31-6 win.

“It takes a lot of people to get to this point, and we all have great support systems, and I think everyone should celebrate tonight,” Brady noted. “It’s time to enjoy the great win we got that capped off a very difficult season.”

Leftist activists and political commentators were calling off Tom Brady during the week before the game, in fact, USA Today published a column criticizing the quarterback and explaining that he should not publicly comment on politics because of his “white privilege” status. Yet, Brady did not shy away, and far from responding with words, he responded on the field, where he performs best and won his seventh Super Bowl at 43 years of age, an unprecedented milestone.
