Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday asked his “74 million voters” to sign a letter against the “threats of possible arrest” he says are hanging over him and show that they are “united in the peaceful defense” of the movement that carried him to the White House in 2017.

In a series of messages sent to his followers, Trump, who warned last weekend that he was going to be arrested this Tuesday over the investigation into payments allegedly made in 2016 to a porn actress in exchange for her silence and called on his followers to protest, stressed that “the left and the deep state'” “hate” him.

“With the very fate of our Republic at stake, there has never been a more important time to show these shadowy forces that all 74 million Trump voters are united to peacefully defend our movement,” reads the message announcing the pickup drive of signatures.

Trump, who is campaigning for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, faces several legal problems, including the investigation of the Manhattan Prosecutor’s Office for alleged payments to the porn actress Stormy Daniels to, presumably, buy his silence about a sexual relationship they had.

A grand jury must decide whether or not to prosecute the former president, while, according to what has been reported in different media, the security forces are alert to possible demonstrations by Trump supporters, such as those that occurred on January 6, 2021, in the assault on the Capitol in mind.

The former president is believed to be this Tuesday at Mar-a-Lago, his residence in Palm Beach (Florida), where some of his followers peacefully demonstrated on Monday. He claims to be the victim of a “witch hunt”, in which he has implicated the financier George Soros and the US president, Joe Biden.

More! Why Donald Trump Could Be Arrested

The former president thanked the support of the “patriots” who joined his movement “America First”started eight years ago when “all the media and the ‘establishment’ said we were doomed to fail.”

“There is not a single doubt in my mind that we will prevail, take back the White House, and make America great again!” he concluded.

Palm Beach media, such as the WPTV channel, reported that Trump supporters who demonstrated on Monday in the city where he has his residence plan to do so this Tuesday as well.
