Will DeSantis Confirm His 2024 Presidential Candidacy? Launches Autobiography

A preview of the book by the Republican governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, was released on Monday. The text, The Courage to be Free, will be sold starting this Tuesday and its summary is already available on Amazon.

Although some media outlets claim that the publication of DeSantis’ book is a wink and a step to launch his presidential candidacy for 2024, the reality is that neither the Republican nor his team have confirmed their intentions to participate in the race for the White House.

“His heart was always for the people of Florida, one of the most diverse and culturally rich states in the union. Since becoming governor of the Sunshine State, he has fought—and won—battle after battle, defeating not just opposition from the political left, but a barrage of hostile media coverage proclaiming the end of the world,” reads the summary of DeSantis’ book.

An account of DeSantis’ life

In the book, DeSantis tells how he has achieved political success in Florida and his desire to continue contributing to America. He also talks about his personal life and how he has achieved all his goals. In addition, he recounts his experience as a combatant in Iraq.

“He played baseball for Yale, graduated with honors from Harvard Law School, and served in Iraq and in the halls of Congress. But in all these places, Ron DeSantis learned the same lesson: He didn’t want to be part of the leftist elite,” the book asserts.

However, criticism was not long in coming and media outlets such as The New York Times have already commented on the book.

“The overall sense you get from reading his new memoir is that of the mechanical try-hard — someone who has expended a lot of effort studying which way the wind is blowing in the Republican Party and is learning how to comport himself accordingly,” says critic Jennifer Szalai in an article published Monday.

The news comes at a time when Ron DeSantis is seen as one of the great favorites to win the Republican elections and is the candidate that many people claim could take the favoritism away from former President Donald Trump, who is leading the electoral race.
