The border crisis is intensifying with the arrival of thousands of illegal migrants in Mexico waiting to enter the United States.

A report by journalist Bill Melugin revealed that more than 1,000 Haitian migrants are outside a shelter in Reynosa, Mexico, while thousands more are already inside waiting to enter U.S. soil.

While this is happening, a bus caravan full of migrants also arrived in Acuña, across from Del Rio in Texas, potentially with most of them attempting to cross into the country through the more than 20,000 illegal crossings in the sector.

In addition to these thousands of migrants waiting to enter the United States, some 9,000 have already received a Multiple Immigration Form (FMM) — which allows them to travel freely in Mexico for 30 days — and are now on their way to U.S. soil.

The Democratic administration recently announced at the Summit of the Americas an operation to combat migrant smuggling. It is a regional responsibility-sharing partnership on asylum and border control.

“Safe and orderly migration is good for all of our economies, including the United States. It can be a catalyst for sustainable growth. But unlawful migration is not acceptable,” said U.S. President Joe Biden, who faces countless critics over the surge of illegal migrants at the southern border.

Critics have blamed the president for creating a border crisis following the repeal of Trump-era immigration policies. They claim Biden has created an incentive for migrants to make the dangerous journey through Mexico on the mission to illegally enter the United States.

Illegal migrants out of control

A Border Patrol release revealed last June 3 that from October 2021 through May 2022, Border Patrol agents in the El Paso sector have encountered more than 658 people with criminal records and gang affiliations.

During the past 7 days, arrests included six subjects for criminal sexual contact with a minor, one individual with an active warrant for murder, and convictions for theft, assault and sexual assault.

“Transnational Criminal Organizations have smuggled hundreds of criminals into our communities who pose a threat to public safety,” said El Paso Sector Chief Patrol Agent Gloria I. Chavez.

“Dangerous criminals endanger our communities as they often continue to disregard the rule of law. Interdicting convicted felons illegally entering the United States is amongst the most vital duties performed by Border Patrol Agents in the El Paso Sector. Extremely proud of our Border Patrol Agents keeping all of us safe,” she added.
