The Biden administration has reportedly engaged in blackmailing against schools by demanding that they comply with its LGBT policies or else he will take away millions of dollars in federal funds earmarked for school lunches.

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem announced that her state will take legal action against Biden.

“Joe Biden has threatened to take away children’s school lunch money to pursue his radical agenda. ” Noem said.

“He’s targeting states like ours that make it clear biological men do NOT belong in girls’ bathrooms and sports. If you act on this, Joe, we’ll see you in court and we will win,” she said.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Service announced in May that it will prevent low-income students from participating in its National School Lunch Program if their public school does not adopt the administration’s interpretation of Title IX.

Title IX states that the federal civil rights law’s provision against discrimination on the basis of sex includes the designation of sexual orientation and gender identity.

According to The Washington Free Beacon (TWFB), only K-12 Christian schools could request a religious exemption from the rule; however, public and non-religious private schools are required to follow the new rules if they do not want to lose funding.

“All people should be treated with dignity and respect, but it’s wrong for the federal government to take away free meals from economically disadvantaged students if their schools do not embrace radical gender ideology, Greg Baylor,” senior advisor to Alliance Defending Freedom.

The announcement is based on President Joe Biden’s first-day Executive Order on Preventing and Combating Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity or Sexual Orientation, which allows transgender students to use male or female restrooms and play sports with both genders.

The Biden administration will also force schools receiving FNS funds to investigate allegations of sexual orientation and gender identity discrimination. College and university students who reject the Biden administration’s definition of sex could also lose their Federal Student Aid.

Baylor suspects that most public schools will comply with the new interpretation, as they rely heavily on federal funding. He encouraged parents to send their concerns to the Department of Education, because it is expected to issue new regulations related to allowing transgender individuals to access spaces that are already sex-segregated.

Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council reacted on his Twitter account, “The reality is religious freedom is being endangered by those demanding forced acceptance of the LGBTQ agenda from the elementary classroom to the corporate board room and everything in between. There can be no compromise on our First Freedom,” he said.

For his part, Jonathan Butcher, an education fellow at the Heritage Foundation, said the Biden administration’s interpretation of Title IX would also prohibit schools from informing parents about their children’s decision to assume a different gender.

“It is a parent’s right to know what their children are doing or what sort of health services or even counseling services are being provided to their children in a school setting,” Butcher said.

Parents Defending Education’s outreach director, Erika Sanzi, called the Title IX decision “absurd.”

“The notion that schools will not receive funding for student meals if they refuse to let biological males use the girls’ bathroom and compete against girls in athletics is so preposterous, it sounds like parody,” Sanzi told TWFB.

LGBT agenda deepens

Recently, Education Secretary Miguel Cardona preferred to dodge questions about whether schools should inform parents about their children’s gender transition.

“It’s a simple question: should schools keep it a secret from parents if their children are involved in gender transition?” asked Congressman Jim Banks; however, Cardona did not respond, only arguing that “parents and schools should work together to support students.”

As the LGBT agenda deepens, lawsuits against school districts for withholding information about children’s gender transitions and “educational” content related to Critical Race Theory are on the rise.
