Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne (R-TX) claimed on Tuesday that the Biden administration was warned about the immigration crisis that would arise if his predecessor’s policies were reversed. According to Fox News, the warning was made by Customs and Border Protection officials.

Van Duyne assured that an unprecedented humanitarian crisis is unfolding at the southern border due to the actions taken by the Biden administration.

“We’re seeing a tremendous humanity crisis down here. You’ve got people who are in a facility right now, the majority of them who are unaccompanied minors, in a facility that was built to house no more than 250 people. It currently has 5,700 people in it,” the congresswoman said.

She argued that the actions taken by Biden-Harris are hurting the children at the border. She also pointed out that instead of helping to resolve the situation, they are deepening the immigration crisis.

“What they’re actually doing is they are forcing thousands and thousands of kids to make this journey and they’re setting up decompression centers across the country.”

Last week, Biden tasked Vice-President Harris with handling the immigration crisis. “I can’t think of anyone more qualified,” the President told reporters Wednesday at a White House meeting with Harris and the heads of the Department of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, and the Department of Health and Human Services, Xavier Becerra.
