A member of Black Lives Matter was arrested last Thursday in Seattle and was charged, with multiple hate crimes for involvement in at least two separate acts of violence. On March 16, Christopher Allen Hamner allegedly threatened Pamela Cole, an Asian-American woman, and her two children.

The incident occurred while the woman was sitting in a public place with her children, according to court documents obtained by the American newspaper. The reports show that the 51-year-old man jumped out of his car and yelled, “F*ck you, you Asian whore, f*ck you!”. The victim was returning home after picking up his son from school.

The newspaper checked the man’s social media and found videos on his Facebook attending Black Lives Matter demonstrations. In one posted in June, Hamner is shown reading signs that read, “Racism is an epidemic” and “change the system.”

“As a parent, I thought I couldn’t protect my kids, and that was the worst thing,” Cole told local media.

Several days later, the same man was involved in a similar incident. The media outlet details that the man was alleged to have followed two Asian Americans in his car. Prosecutors said he cut them off and charged at them while shouting profanities. Some of the victims included children as young as 5 and 10 years old.

Jonathan Choe, a journalist specializing legal proceedings, published the report from the King County Prosecutor’s Office. The document specifies that Hamner faces hate crime charges for “violent and anti-Asian behavior.” He is being held in jail on $75,000 bail.
