KARLA HERNANDEZ, Charlie Crist’s running mate, made headlines over the weekend when several social network users and media outlets recalled a tweet she had written in 2016 and in which she praised dictator Fidel Castro. This Monday news broke that Hernandez deleted the tweet.

“A political figure dies at 90. Most in Miami rejoice, many in Cuba mourn”, the Democrat wrote in 2016, with no intention of hiding her sympathy for the Cuban regime.

“In doing a quick Google search on the actual tweet, the messages footprint still exists but when you click on the link, Twitter’s standard, ‘Hmm…this page doesn’t exist. Try searching for something else’ message pops up,” reported The Floridian. While other Twitter accounts show that the platform states that it was removed.

The reason for deleting the tweet was the announcement that Hernandez will try with Crist to win the Florida governorship, and residents of the state who come from countries such as Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela, do not look favorably on those who idolize the Castro regime, because they have had to flee their home nations because of its totalitarian policies.
