Ron DeSantis, governor of Florida, said Friday that it is offensive to ask taxpayers to fund critical race theory. This is a movement of academics and civil rights activists in the United States who seek to critically examine the law when it intersects with issues of race.
“It’s offensive to the taxpayer that they would be asked to fund critical race theory,” DeSantis said.
Similarly, the governor argued that it would drive children’s hatred of their country and to hate one another, “they would be asked to fund teaching kids to hate their country and hate each other,” he said in a video posted on Twitter.
