A new poll shows that Hershel Walker and Brian Kemp would prevail in two key races in Georgia. These are two priority races for the Republican Party, one to regain the Senate majority and the other to reconfirm that Georgia remains a red state.

The poll was conducted by Emerson College, which showed Walker ahead of incumbent Senator Raphael Warnock by 46% to 44%, while the incumbent governor would again defeat Stacey Abrams, but this time by a more significant margin, 48% to 44%.

“Walker leads Warnock among rural voters 58% to 24%, while Warnock leads Walker 66% to 25% among urban voters. In the suburbs, voters are breaking for Walker by a nine-point margin, 50% to 41%”, Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling, said of the poll in a press release.

Suppose there is one encouraging statistic for the former American football player. In that case, it is his wide margin in the suburbs, considering that this demographic group was critical to Biden’s overcoming Trump in Georgia.

As for Georgia voters’ top issues when heading to the polls, the economy came out on top with 36%. In second place came abortion access with 20%, and crime closed the top three with 15%. Behind came health care (9%), immigration (7%), housing affordability (5%), and education (4%).

“While the economy is the most important issue for both male and female voters, the second most important issue differs. Among women, abortion access is the most important concern for 28 %, whereas, among men, 19 % say crime is the most important issue”, Kimball said.

In addition, as for Joe Biden’s popularity rating in the state, the poll found that “President Biden holds a 42 % approval among very likely Georgia voters; 57 % disapprove of the job the president is doing. In a hypothetical 2024 Presidential Election between President Biden and former President Trump, Trump leads Biden 51 % to 46 %”.

The gubernatorial and Senate elections will take place on November 8th and are expected to be among the closest of the midterm cycle.
