Since her defeat in 2018, it seems like only two words have come out of Stacey Abrams’ mouth: “voter suppression.” Not only has the Democrat repeated it loudly every time she is asked about the reasons for Brian Kemp’s victory, she even made a documentary about it. With the results of the midterms already in, Democrats are again accusing “voter suppression.”

In this case, this “speech” did not come from the mouth of the gubernatorial candidate, but from an MSNBC contributor.

“The level of voter suppression [in Georgia] is beyond anything that we saw in 2018…We can’t say that whatever happens tonight is a fair and equitable election,” Jason Johnson strongly claimed.

He also held Governor Brian Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, both of whom are seeking re-election on Tuesday, November 8, directly responsible.

Latest Georgia polls

According to the Real Clear Politics polling average, Brian Kemp would easily win re-election in Georgia, with an 8.3% difference over Abrams. This trend has held throughout the race and does not appear likely to change right on election night.

As for the Senate, things are shaping up to be much more even. Herschel Walker is looking to unseat Raphael Warnock, which does not look easy. While the incumbent is relatively popular, the national stage brought about by Joe Biden could drag him to defeat.

The polls show almost total parity, so the election could well end in a runoff. Indeed, this was the path that allowed Warnock to reach the Upper House in 2021, when he defeated Kelly Loeffler by 2%.
