FORMER Secretary of State and presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, said she will not run again for the U.S. presidency after her defeat to former President Donald Trump in 2016.

In an interview with CBS News’s Evening News, host Norah O’Donnell asked Clinton if she planned to run for president in 2024, to which the former Democratic candidate replied “no, no” and clarified her intentions.

“I’m gonna do everything I can to make sure that we have a president who respects our democracy and the rule of law and upholds our institutions,” Clinton responded.

As could not be missed, the former official also took the opportunity to talk about Trump. She said that, should he run for president, the former Republican leader “he should be soundly defeated,” and called on the GOP to “grow a backbone” and prevent the conservative leader from getting the nomination.

What Clinton seems to ignore is that Democrats do not want her in the presidency. According to a recent poll, only 19% of the governing party’s voters think the former secretary of state should be nominated.

This may be due to internal discontent regarding the former candidate’s involvement in the conspiracy against Donald Trump and the lie of alleged Russian collusion.

According to a recent study by the TechnoMetrica Institute of Policy and Politics, quoted by the New York Post, three out of four Democratic voters who have followed the Russiagate story believe Clinton should be investigated for her and her campaign‘s involvement.
