El American’s Idiot of the Week award goes to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, for his response to the Freedom Convoy, which rallied thousands of truckers calling for an end to tyrannical pandemic measures.
The Freedom Convoy, the protest called by Canadian truckers against vaccination mandates and health restrictions in the North American country began almost three weeks ago. Since then, Justin Trudeau has had a series of reactions that have made him worthy of our Idiot of the Week award.
His first reaction to the advance of the convoy was to hide, saying he feared for his physical integrity, trying to paint the truckers as dangerous and violent vandals, who in reality have been characterized by a friendly and festive attitude.
After the criticism of this shooing, Justin Trudeau claimed to have tested positive for coronavirus, in order to justify another week of absence.
Finally, he returned to the public spotlight by trying to insult and belittle the truckers, instead of trying to establish a dialogue. In fact, in other incredible statements, Justin Trudeau, came to say that he only dialogues with protesters he agrees with, like Black Lives Matter. Unity and government for all!
It seems as if Justin Trudeau is projecting his sense of guilt on the truckers
The truth is that with his attitude, Justin Trudeau looks like a junkie hooked on taking draconian measures with the excuse of the pandemic, who doesn’t know how to react to his sudden loss of power. It is as if he is trying to cling to a crumbling narrative so that he can continue to dictate authoritarian measures without facing the slightest criticism.
The epithets that Justin Trudeau has dedicated to the protesters and to those who oppose mandatory vaccination are those of a desperate person without arguments. “Racists, misogynists, conspiracy theorists,” he has declared.
Tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy theorists may get a pass, but to say someone is a racist or misogynist for being against vaccinating is absurd to the point of insanity.
It was really surprising to hear Trudeau complain that the truckers were “trying to block the economy, democracy and people’s daily lives” when he has been the one whose mandates have done exactly that in recent months.
El American’s Idiot of the Week award to Justin Trudeau in turn serves as a tribute to the truckers who have fought for freedom and revealed the most authoritarian side of the Canadian leader.
The message the Canadian truckers are sending to Justin Trudeau and to the world is that the rulers cannot get away with everything they have done using the excuse of the pandemic. With their heroic Freedom Convoy, the Canadian truckers have done a great favor to all of us who value freedom, and have led the way for peaceful protests in all other countries where the rulers have overstepped their bounds.
