Israel Warns of Dangers of New Biden-led Iran Deal

[Leer en español]

Israel was concerned about an imminent new nuclear agreement between the United States and Iran. Both Prime Minister Yair Lapid and Benjamin Netanyahu, the current opposition leader, made clear their dissatisfaction with the actions of Joe Biden’s Administration towards the Iranian regime.

Both leaders held a meeting to discuss the matter.

“They’re going to get hundreds of billions of dollars in short order, and that’s going to help them finance their various proxies. It’s against peace and security; it’s against our future. It’s a mess,” “Bibi” said in an interview with Al Arabiya.

“Can a country as important as the United States make such a big mistake? The answer is yes. Unfortunately, it’s happened in the past,” the former prime minister added.

In addition, Benny Gantz, Israel’s current Defense Minister, recently visited the United States and made clear the position of the Lapid Administration. For example, last Saturday he indicated that “improvements are necessary” in the upcoming nuclear deal with Iran.

“Iran has gained knowledge, infrastructure and capabilities. Much of which is irreversible.” “This will enable Iran to further expand its nuclear program during the period of an agreement that would have fewer restrictions,” the official added, who also met with Jake Sullivan, the U.S. national security advisor.

Ted Cruz killed the Iran nuclear deal

Locally, if there is one politician who is deeply against the deal, it is Ted Cruz. In his book, One Vote Away: How a Single Supreme Court Seat Can Change History, the senator stated that “If history teaches anything, it is that when people tell you they want to kill you, believe them. Or, at a minimum, don’t give them hundreds of billions of dollars to help them accomplish their objective.”

““On the face of the deal, there were numerous obvious failings: before any facilities could be inspected to determine if nuclear weapons were being developed, Iran had to receive twenty-four days advance notice (plenty of time to scrub the facility); certain ‘military’ facilities were exempted from inspection (obviously, where Iran would base their nuclear weapon development); for one military facility where Iran had done nuclear weapons work, Iran would be trusted to ‘self-inspect'” he added in the book that was published in 2020.

Should the Biden Administration succeed in signing a new agreement, Cruz anticipated that he would work hard to have it terminated by January 2025
