Businessman Jonathan Bush, the younger brother of the late former President George H.W. Bush (1989-1993) and uncle of former President George W. Bush, died at the age of 89 at his home in Jupiter, on Florida’s east coast.
The Texas-based George & Barbara Bush Foundation said on Thursday that Bush had passed away on Wednesday, without detailing the cause of death.
“Our prayers and love are with the Bush family as we remember a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother, a fine gentleman and a noble soul,” the foundation said.
It stressed that he was also “a great song and dance man — without a doubt the best dancer of his siblings.”
Bush, who would have turned 90 today, worked in finance and was the last surviving of the family’s five siblings.
Former President George H.W. Bush, father of former President George W. Bush (2001-2009), died in 2018 at his home in Houston, Texas.
Jonathan Bush was the father of television host Billy Bush.
“Thanks for this great life and for being the best dad ever,” Billy wrote on his Instagram account today.
