The New York Times (NYT) published on Wednesday a full report on the ongoing federal investigation against Hunter Biden regarding his tax returns, the contents of which confirmed the existence of the infamous laptop containing compromising information.

Following a New York Post report on the matter published in October 2020, a few months before the election in which Joe Biden was contesting the presidency with Donald Trump, the media was censored on social networks.

According to the Post report, the hard drive on the president’s son’s laptop contained a large number of emails, text messages, photos and financial documents compromising Hunter Biden, his family and business associates.

The information contained on the laptop would detail how Hunter Biden used his family’s political influence to benefit his personal interests when dealing overseas.

The laptop was found by the owner of a repair shop, who reported the existence of the device to the FBI. Federal authorities confiscated the computer and its hard drive, and an investigation has been ongoing ever since.

The NYT reports that federal prosecutors have investigated emails between Hunter Biden and his business associates contained on the laptop as part of the legal proceedings against him.

According to the Times‘ sources, some of the emails being scrutinized by authorities are between President Biden’s son and Devon Archer, a director of the Ukrainian energy company, Burisma, who has also cooperated with the FBI.

In addition, the Times was able to confirm that, a year after learning that he was being investigated for alleged fraud against the IRS, Hunter Biden paid tax obligations that would exceed the sum of one million dollars.

Information about the contents of the computer abounded in foreign media such as the DailyMail, which obtained 103,000 text messages, 154,000 emails and some 2,000 photos verified by forensic experts and showing a dark side of the personal life of the president’s son.

The laptop revealed private messages between Hunter and his father, intimate photos naked or using drugs, information about his particular obsession with recording pornography, emails in which he tries to use his influence to “clean up his image” and even, according to the DailyMail, “with evidence of apparent criminal activity by him and his associates including drug trafficking prostitution.”

On the other hand, media outlets such as Politico, Huffpost and The Intercept went so far as to refer to the Post’s report on Hunter Biden’s laptop as “Russian disinformation,” and attempted to obscure the findings of Rudy Giuliany, who gained access to the device.

Even Biden’s now Press Secretary Jen Psaki went so far as to spread Politico’s lie by claiming it was a Russian-motivated disinformation scheme.

None of those media outlets, as author and journalist Glenn Greenwald points out on Twitter, have backed down from such remarks.
