RUSSIAN President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree to increase the number of military personnel serving in the Russian Army by 137,000 people, according to the document published on Russia’s legal information portal.

According to the resolution, the number of the country’s troops will rise to 1,150,628.

The decree will come into force on January 1, 2023.

In November 2017, the Russian leader set the number of military personnel at 1,013,628 in the first such measure in nearly a decade.
