Investigative journalist and best-selling author Peter Schweitzer believes that Joe Biden’s ‘smoking gun’ voicemail found on Hunter Biden’s laptop is potent additional evidence the president knew about his son’s corrupt foreign business dealings and covered it up.
“Hey pal, it’s Dad. It’s 8:15 on Wednesday night. If you get a chance just give me a call. Nothing urgent. I just wanted to talk to you,” Joe Biden said on the aired voicemail.
“This is just further evidence of what we’ve known,” Schweitzer says in the interview. “Based on what’s on the laptop, based on other reporting, and that is that Joe Biden and Hunter Biden were talking regularly about his foreign deals. And when Joe Biden has said repeatedly, both as president and as a candidate, that he never discussed his foreign dealings with his family, that he’s lying. There’s no other word for it.”
“And here’s the thing… we need to put this into relief, contrast when it comes to the Bidens, dealing with China,” he adds. “What we’ve seen in the last 18 months during the Biden administration is retreat by a thousand small steps when it comes to American policy towards China. You know, you basically now have the administration saying that it’s going to be okay for Americans to own shares in companies that are blacklisted Chinese military link companies.”
“That’s a policy reversal,” Schweitzer continued. “You have them get rid of the China initiative at the Department of Justice to crack down on Chinese acquisition of American technology. You have them getting rid of tariffs on solar panels. China, of course, produces 80% in the world. You have them talking about getting rid of tariffs, in general, on China. You can look at their treatment of the company Huawei and TikTok the reversals in those areas. I could go on and on.”
“The bottom line and the most stunning thing… is all of those retreats by the Biden administration on China, they received zero concessions in return,” he said. “These were all giveaways to Beijing. And so we have to have an honest conversation in this country: Does the flow of Chinese money to the Biden family, tens of millions of dollars, influence American foreign policy? We see news articles all the time… about Big Tech and Big Oil and Wall Street influencing the legislative process. Why shouldn’t we have that conversation about Chinese money flowing to the Bidens?”
“So, going back to the CEFC and the discussion, which prompted the president to leave this voicemail message for Hunter and why he saved this on his laptop,” Fox News contributor Jason Chaffetz said. “I don’t know, but the CEFC, that wasn’t just a discussion with local businessmen in China, they’ve got some real interesting ties, don’t they?”
“Yeah, that’s exactly right,” Schweitzer replied. “And that’s what really makes us more troubling than just normal, typical overseas business dealings. CEFC was run by a gentleman named Chairman Ye [Jianming]. He had links to Chinese intelligence. His company was located in an area of Beijing that was owned by the Chinese military. The precursor to CEFC was started by military officers with the Chinese military general staff. You know, and you look at the other deals that they did there, there’s a series of deals, basically four deals, that the Bidens receive money from in China.”
“Each and every one of those four businessmen chairman, Ye being one of them, have links to the highest levels of Chinese intelligence,” Schweitzer added. “And in none of these cases… did the Bidens perform any legitimate business service. They don’t bring any capital to these deals. They don’t bring any expertise. They don’t bring anything. So, that’s really why you have to look at these deals and understand what’s going on here and juxtapose it with the policies that we are now getting from the Biden White House.”
“I also do think it’s time for a Special Counsel to come into place with Hunter Biden,” Chaffetz concludes at the end of the segment.
Ye Jianming, readers might recall, was the 40-year-old chairman of energy giant CEFC who gave Hunter Biden a 3-carat diamond worth $80,000 and offered him $10 million a year for three years for ‘introductions alone’ to the Biden administration as part of a foreign influence campaign for China to gain a “gateway to Europe,” as Miranda Devine recounts in “Laptop from Hell.”
On Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was confronted with the undeniable evidence the White House lied about the president’s awareness of Hunter’s foreign business deals.
“Why is there a voicemail of the president talking to his son about his overseas business dealings if the president has said, ‘he’s never spoken to his son about his overseas business’?” Fox News’ Peter Doocy asked.
“Well, first I’ll say that, what the president said stands,” Jean-Pierre replied. “So… if that’s what the president said, that, that is what stands.”
“He’s leaving a voicemail about a New York Times article concerning Hunter Biden’s business dealings,” Doocy pushed back. “And he says, ‘I think you’re clear.’ How is that not him talking to his son about his overseas business dealings?”
“I am not going to talk about alleged materials from the laptop,” KJP says emphatically.
The Daily Mail in June revealed in June that Joe Biden left a voicemail on Hunter Biden’s laptop that shows he knew about about his son’s shady business with China and lied about it.
It’s not just the evidence of Chinese foreign influence operations penetrating the Biden White House that is damning. It’s the blatant cover-up.
