A sleepy North Dakota town was the latest American community to fall prey to an uptick in political violence, that is primarily being fueled by left-wing extremism.
In the wake of an incendiary speech by President Joe Biden in primetime vilifying “MAGA extremists” for opposing the Democratic Party’s agenda, a man named Shannon Brandt took it upon himself to target and kill whom he described as a “Republican extremist” by running him over with his vehicle. He was an eighteen-year-old, typical teenager named Cayler Ellingson.
As if to declare that it’s “open season” on killing conservatives, the District Attorney was able to secure the release of the suspected killer Shannon Brandt on $50,000 bond. According to the probable cause affidavit obtained by Fox News Digital, Brandt had been driven into a state of rage due to his beliefs that the conservative teen was out to get him.
“Brandt stated that the pedestrian called some people and Brandt was afraid they were coming to get him,” the document continues. “Brandt admitted to State Radio that he hit the pedestrian and that the pedestrian was part of a Republican extremist group.”
Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) took President Joe Biden to task for delivering an extremely partisan and divisive primetime televised speech that demonized millions of law-abiding Americans.
“Words can have violent consequences,” Paul told Fox News Digital. “President Biden needs to realize that his vilification of his opponents is inflaming some of his supporters to violence. As a victim of political violence, both sides need to recognize the consequences of heated rhetoric.”
Rand Paul was the victim of political violence along with his wife outside the Republican National Convention in 2020. He was also attacked by an irate neighbor named Rene Boucher in 2017.
Paul suffered broken ribs in the attack, which he said caused him to fly 10 feet in the air from the force of the attack. He said that he has a “significant injury that I have lifelong symptoms from.”
Boucher was originally sentenced to 30 days in jail for the attack, as well as 100 hours of community service and a $10,000 fine. Prosecutors were seeking a prison term of 21 to 27 months for Boucher. In 2020, the prosecutors were able to secure an additional eight months in prison for the offender.
In a separate civil case, Boucher was ordered to pay Sen. Paul more than $580,000 in damages.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) also blasted Biden for his divisive political theater that preceded the attack.

“An 18-year-old was executed in cold blood by a Democrat political terrorist because of rhetoric like this,” Greene argued. “Democrats want Republicans dead, and they’ve already started the killings. Democrat’s political war against patriotic Americans must end!”

Former Trump legal adviser Jenna Ellis called for holding Biden to account for his incendiary rhetoric.

Kansas Republican Sen. Roger Marshall also added his view of the tragic murder.

House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA), who was shot at a Congressional baseball game in 2017, told Fox News Digital that Biden should condemn the act of “leftist violence.”
“People from all parties should condemn political violence when it happens, and I would encourage President Biden and other Democrat leaders to equally condemn this heinous act,” Scalise said.
