GOP Senator Ted Cruz spoke about the border crisis on Wednesday. On this occasion, Cruz took the opportunity to challenge White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre to accompany him to the border crossing point to show what citizens are experiencing and then admit that she lied about the government’s control of the situation.
The senator was referring to Jean-Pierre’s claim that immigrants are not illegally crossing the border on foot. “When we encounter dozens, if not hundreds of illegal aliens walking across the border, will she have the courage to tell the White House press corps, ‘I lied to you?,'” Cruz said on Twitter.

Cruz’s tweet was accompanied by an interview on Fox News, where he asks the spokeswoman to accept the challenge. And he insists: “I’m going to give a challenge, Karine Jean-Pierre, right now,” Cruz said. “Come to this border. Spend 60 minutes, one hour, with me and the Border Patrol union. We will encounter dozens, if not hundreds, of illegal immigrants coming across. And if we don’t, let’s bring the entire White House press corps, and one of two things will happen: If we don’t encounter anyone, I’ll stand up and say, ‘I was wrong.'”

He added: “But when we encounter hundreds of people crossing, do you have the courage and integrity to stand in front of the press corps you’re lying to and say, ‘I lied to you?’ That’s what an honest White House press secretary would say.”
The senator also argued that it’s not just about Jean-Pierre. He noted that Joe Biden’s administration is also not speaking the truth about what is happening at the border. “At the end of the day, when she lies, it’s not just her — it’s Joe Biden who is paying her to lie, and it’s every one of the docile corporate media that roll over,” he said. “If every single fact-checker doesn’t say, ‘pants on fire,’ they’re complicit in the lie,” he said.
