Former President Donald Trump endorsed on Monday Jody Hice’s candidacy to replace Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, a Republican.
“Unlike the current Georgia Secretary of State (Raffensperger), Jody leads out front with integrity. I have 100% confidence in Jody to fight for Free, Fair, and Secure Elections in Georgia, in line with our beloved U.S. Constitution,” Trump, who served from 2017-2021, said in a statement.
Jody Hice, currently a congressman, “steadfast fighter for conservative Georgia values,” Trump said, and added that Hice would “stop the fraud and get honesty into our elections,.”
The Republican congressman was among those who opposed certifying Biden’s victory in Georgia last January 6.
