Trump Threatens to Sue Pulitzer If It Does Not Take Back NYT’s & WaPo’s Prizes for Disproven Russia Collusion Stories

The Washington Post and New York Times were key radical publications that pushed the debunked Trump-Russia collusion hoax during the 2016 campaign and beyond, thereby rigging an election, defaming an American president, and spreading damaging disinformation that divided Americans for years.

And for that, they awarded Pulitzer Prizes. This is the ultimate insult for journalistic malpractice that will forever live in infamy.

Former President Donald Trump recently lashed out after the Durham trial testimony that proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that Hillary Clinton had been the mastermind behind it all. Trump exploded at further vindication of his claim that he was spied on.

“The latest pleading from Special Counsel Robert Durham provides indisputable evidence that my campaign and presidency were spied on by operatives paid by the Hillary Clinton Campaign in an effort to develop a completely fabricated connection to Russia,” Donald Trump said in a statement. “This is a scandal far greater in scope and magnitude than Watergate and those who were involved in and knew about this spying operation should be subject to criminal prosecution. In a stronger period of time in our country, this crime would have been punishable by death. In addition, reparations should be paid to those in our country who have been damaged by this.”

A fed up Donald Trump recently fired off a letter to Ms. Marjorie Miller of the Pulitzer Prize Board. It threatens to sue the board if it does not rescind the Pulitzers given to the Washington Post and New York Times for their blatant ‘fake news’ stories.

“In letters dated October 3, 2021, and November 15, 2021, I requested that the Pulitzer Prize Board rescind the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting that it awarded to The New York Times and The Washington Post for their purportedly ‘deeply sourced, relentlessly reported coverage in the public interest that dramatically furthered the nation’s understanding of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and its connections to the Trump campaign, the President-elect’s transition team, and his eventual administration’.”

“There is no dispute that the Pulitzer Board’s award to those media outlets was based on false and fabricated information that they published,” the letter adds. “The continuing publication and recognition of the prizes on the Board’s website is a distortion of fact and a personal defamation that will result in the filing of litigation if the Board cannot be persuaded to do the right thing on its own. In light of additional recent evidence that the articles for which that prize was awarded contained incontrovertibly false information that misled the public, I again call on your organization to maintain its own credibility by rescinding that prize to The New York Times and The Washington Post.”

“I call on your Board to pay close attention to the developments in the ongoing criminal trial of Michael Sussman, the former attorney for the 2016 Clinton Campaign,” Trump added. “Mr. Sussman is being prosecuted for lying to the FBI regarding false information purporting to show connections between me and Alfa Bank in Russia, as well as lying about approaching the FBI as a concerned citizen and hiding the fact that he was doing the bidding of the Clinton Campaign and Hillary Clinton herself. Some of the vital facts the public has learned over the last week include”:

  • The Russia hoax was a dirty campaign trick promulgated by Crooked Hillary Clinton and her associates. I never had any relationship with Alfa Bank – any claim otherwise is a total scam.
  • Clinton Campaign Manager Robby Mook testified that Hillary Clinton personally approved the decision to promote the false narrative of secret communications between me and my campaign, on the one hand, and Alfa Bank, on the other hand.
  • Mr. Sussman, a lawyer working for Mrs. Clinton, asked Former FBI General Counsel James Baker for a meeting about the false link between me and my campaign and Alfa Bank under the false pretense that he wanted to help the Bureau, and not because he was working on behalf of the Clinton Campaign. Mr. Sussman billed the Clinton Campaign for the time that he spent meeting with Mr. Baker.
  • An FBI Special Agent and DNS data expert explained that the Alfa Bank data did not support the white papers that Sussman provided to the FBI.
  • Former Clinton Campaign General Counsel Marc Elias confinned that he hired Fusion OPS to conduct opposition research on me and my campaign, which resulted in the fake Steele Dossier.

“There was never any truth to the Clinton campaign’s shameful smears, as The New York Times and The Washington Post would have quickly discovered had they done even a modicum of journalistic investigation,” the letter continues. “We gain more and more clarity with each passing day about the propaganda and falsehoods that were pushed by the Clintons and their willing accomplices in the media about the ‘collusion’ that never existed between me, my campaign, my administration, and the Russian government.”

“Even The New York Times and The Washington Post have effectively admitted this fact,” he added. “Surely there must come a point where it is simply embarrassing to your organization to stand by a prestigious Pulitzer Prize awarded to two alleged news organizations that have been conclusively and definitively complicit in promulgating lies about me. The Pulitzer Prizes should not be known as a fake organization awarding its one sterling award for patently false stories.”

“In response to my earlier correspondence, the Pulitzer Prize Board is quoted in The Hill stating that, ‘The Pulitzer Board has a standing process for reviewing questions about past awards, under the guidelines of which complaints are considered by an appointed committee.’ Now that nearly eight months have passed since my initial letter, you have an obligation to share with me the status of that supposedly ‘appointed committee’s’ review following its alleged ‘standing process.'”

“The American people also deserve to know who was appointed to serve on that committee and how stories which were based on clearly fake information but still received the Prize are treated,” he added. “Together with the publications that have obsessively promulgated disgustingly false attacks against me, you have done all you can to destroy my reputation, how do I get my reputation back?”

“I hereby again demand that your organization preserve all documentation as to the above facts, along with all other information that my counsel asked the Board to preserve in our earlier correspondence,” Trump went on. “Please continue to pay close attention to the testimony at Mr. Sussman’s trial as well as all other pertinent information.”

“Additionally, please carefully study the report by Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz eviscerating corrupt former FBI Director James Corney and former Deputy Director Andrew McCabe over their handling of the Russia hoax as well as the coverage of said report, including scathing reporting on Corney in The New York Times,” he said.

“I again call on you to rescind the Prize you awarded based on blatantly fake, derogatory and defamatory news,” Trump remarked in the signed letter. “If you choose to not do so, we will see you in court.”

Remarkably, the Sussmann trial resulted in a non-conviction for the Hillary Clinton lawyer, as a federal jury decided on Tuesday. It is just one more case of injustice in a long train of abuses that former President Donald Trump has suffered at the hands of the shameless media and corrupt criminal justice system.
