United States sanctioned this Monday the Chinese state company CEIEC, accusing it of restricting internet service in Venezuela and of carrying out digital surveillance and cybernetic operations against political opponents of Nicolas Maduro’s tyranny.
The Treasury Department said in a statement that CEIEC was blacklisted by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) “for supporting the efforts of Maduro’s illegitimate regime to undermine democracy in Venezuela.
